The long-range "Queen of the Skies."
Introduced in February 1971, the Boeing® 747-200's powerful Pratt & Whitney® engines and improved fuel capacity made it ideal for long-range travel. A favorite of Northwest Airlines, nearly 400 747-200s had been produced by the time production ceased in 1991. Northwest Airlines was absorbed by Delta Airlines® in 2010. At the time of the merger, Northwest had 15 747-200s in its fleet.
