Bombers of the 8th Flight Regiment
Like most Imperial Japanese Army Air Service planes, the Ki-48 was a light, fast and maneuverable aircraft that focused on armament rather than armor. The type proved to be extremely effective dive bombers in operations in the Phillipines, Malaya and Burma. These bombers had a crew of four and could carry up to 1,700 lbs (800 kg) of bombs over extremely long distances. Late in the war, Ki-48s were used in numerous Kamikaze attacks. This limited edition kit features photo-etched dive breaks and decals for two IJAAF aircraft.
