1/48 Blue Impulse History F-86 / T-2 / T-4 Limited Edition

1/48 Blue Impulse History F-86 / T-2 / T-4 Limited Edition

Blue Impulse, the Japan Air Self Defense Force demonstration team, was formed in 1960 and based on Matsushima Air Base. Originally the team was made of six F-86 Sabres, flying for aerial displays at the opening of the Tokyo Olympic Games in 1964 and the opening of Expo '70 in Osaka. In 1980 the team switched to the Mitsubishi T-2, and then to the Kawasaki T-4 in 1995. This Limited Edition kit includes the three aircraft the famous Blue Impulse Demonstration Team has used over the years. The F-86 includes 79 parts and decals to model as it appeared from October 1961 to August 1963 or as it appeared for its final flight on February 8, 1981. The T-2 includes 164 parts and decals to model a Blue Impulse plane either with or without a tail code number. The T-4 includes 118 parts and decals to model a current 2010 season Blue Impulse Demonstration Plane.
