The I.J.N.'s high-altitude interceptor.
The J2M was developed and designed by Jiro Horikoshi, creator of the celebrated A6M Zero. Nicknamed the "Raiden" ("Thunderbolt"), J2Ms were powered by an oversized - and often unreliable - Mitsubishi Kasei engine. While the J2M offered exceptional climbing ability, visibility was compromised. As a result, later variants (like the J2M6) were outfitted with bubble canopies and wider cockpits. This limited edition kit features new upper nose panel parts and new canopy parts.
