Japan's legendary "Army Zero."
Lightweight and highly maneuverable, the Ki-43-I had a top speed of 308 mph (495 km/h) at 13,160 feet (4,000 m). These advantages made it a favorite of several Japanese Army Air Force aces, including Capt. Katsumi Anma, 1st Lt. Shogo Takeuchi and Capt. Haruyasu Maruo.
