1/350 IJN Light Cruiser Agano Limited Edition

1/350 IJN Light Cruiser Agano Limited Edition

The Imperial Japanese Navy ship Agano was the lead ship in the Agano class of light cruisers. Named after the Agano river in Fukushima, the Agano class was designed to be lightly armored command vessels operating against destroyers and submarines. Agano was completed on October 31, 1942, and assigned to Destroyer Squadron 10 of the Japanese Third Fleet. On December 16, 1944, at 05:17, the Agano sank 160 miles north of Truk after sustaining heavy damage from a torpedo of the U.S.S. Skate the night before. This Hasegawa model includes 407 original and updated parts such as funnel, carrier deck, bridge parts, searchlight base and catapult, as well decals for I.J.N. 3rd Fleet 10th Sq. January 1943.
